Cynghorydd Live Well Post Diagnostig

De Cymru

Ellie is the Post Diagnostic Advisor for the Live Well with Hearing Loss Project and is based in South Wales.

The Post Diagnostic Service looks at all the areas of life that contribute to good wellbeing and supports people with hearing loss/tinnitus to thrive in those areas and to live well with their hearing loss. Some of the things covered are questions about hearing loss/tinnitus, hearing aids, communication, assistive technology, and equipment for work and home.

Before COS, Ellie worked for RNID for just over 4 years, doing Administration and Employment support before starting the Post Diagnostic Advisor role in May 2021. Her background is in education where she worked for many years supporting deaf children/teenagers to access mainstream education using Sign Supported English and British Sign Language. Ellie also worked for NDCS where she worked as Project Officer for a project supporting deaf teenagers to make informed choices about their futures post education.

Ellie started to learn BSL in 2011 and in 2020 I passed my level 4 qualification. I have recently completed a level 4 apprenticeship in Advice & Guidance, which I hope will help me deliver a high-quality service to our service users.

Ellie lives in the Vale of Glamorgan with my husband and dog Wilf! She enjoys walks by the sea and spending time with friends and family. Ellie is also partial to a good series on Netflix and have a good binge.
