Michael Ford
Live Well with Hearing Loss Volunteer Coordinator

South Wales

Michael is the Volunteer Coordinator for the Live Well with Hearing Loss Project and is based in South Wales.

Volunteering is the foundation for the befriending service offered through the project.  Volunteers are matched with individuals seeking support due to loneliness or social isolation that are D/deaf, have hearing loss and/or tinnitus.

Michael finds the gift of time through volunteering is vital in extending the reach and level of support for our service users, and volunteering can be in the form of a series of phone calls, letters, virtual or face to face meetings.

It is the job of the volunteer coordinator to ensure our volunteers are trained and supported in their role.  Michael has a wealth of experience as a volunteer manager through his career in the third sector and started employment with the Live Well team through the RNID in 2022 before joining cos in 2023.
